FACTS AND FICTIONS IN THE BIBLE (PART 1)

Assalammualaikum wbkt,

My neighbour moved to another house last few weeks and she threw away few books & other stuffs besides her dustbin at the backyard on the day she is moving to her new home. My husband found that one of the books that she left was the bible. He brought home as he thought that I might love to have this copy of bible as my reference.

This green covered bible is;

The New Testament and Psalms

New International Version

which I doubt, if there is a NEW version - there must be a OLD version too! How many version they have? Not sure! But lets have a look at this one.

Alright, so what I have in hand is the New Testament -as the Christian believe it is the preaching of Jesus and the Old Testament is about the preaching of Moses.

The Gideons International

in the British Isles

Lutterworth, England

I don't understand what it is Gideons International, but I believe this must be referring to the producer or the publisher of this bible. Maybe.

I scanned few pages of this bible and let me share with you what I found:

(1) This bible start with the book of Matthew. Matthew 1 is about the Genealogy of Jesus. Do you know what is Geneology? It means "salasilah" in bahasa malaysia. Like our prophet Muhammad saw, his father is Abdullah, and his father is Abdul Mutalib and it continues...

.

Right, so let we see what the bible said about the Geneology of Jesus. It is a very long paragraph but I m not going to write the whole para for you. Let see the most interesting one.

Matthew 1 16

and Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.

I am just wondering, if Jesus is son of God as claim by Christians today, why the name of GOD ALMIGHTY is not appear in the Genealogy of Jesus in this bible. It is supposed to be there right? But, why it is not appear in the bible. You know why? Because Jesus is not a son of GOD. The bible said that. The bible didnt include GOD ALMIGHTY in the list of Jesus geneology, thus the bible trying to portray that Jesus is not His son, as muslim believed that he (Prophet Isa a.s.) is one of the Massenger of God, NOT son of GOD.

(2) In the Matthew 5, narrate the preaching of Jesus. It is started with - do not commit murder, do not commit adultery, explanation about divorce, oaths etc etc.

let see what the bible said about adultery

Matthew 5

27 "You have heard that it was said, 'Do not commit adultery'

28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committeed adultery with her in his heart

29 If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.

30 And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go to hell.

Many years we have heard that the non-believers make jokes & mockery about Al-Qur'an. They told us that Al-Qur'an is so fierce and barbaric because those who stole others stuffs, his hand will be cut off etc etc. But, what is this in your bible?

(3) In the Book of Matthew 6 5, there is a long explanation on how a christian should perform their prayer. Let see what the bible said about prayer.

Matthew 6

6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

9 "This, then, is how you should pray:

" 'Our Father in heaven,

hallowed be your name

10 your kingdom come

you will be done on earth as it is in heaven

11 Give us today our daily bread

12 Forgive us our debts as we also have forgiven our debtors

Alright. This is the way the Jesus taught his followers to pray. Look. He clearly stated that once you perform your prayer, it must be address to the Father, the unseen, which is the GOD Almighty. Jesus never said, that you have to pray to the FATHER, SON and HOLY SPIRIT. So, just pray to GOD, the unseen. But who taught you to pray by including the son of God and the holy spirit? Because it seems that your bible teach something different with what you practice. The bible said, pray to Father, the unseen, but you are doing something different than this. Instead of ignoring what the bible said, you added more items in the list by including Jesus (which you declared as son of God) and Holy Spirit.

If Jesus is still here, I believe that he will be very angry because you didnt follow his instruction.

It is very clear and easy to understand, right. Jesus didnt mentioned about son of God or holy spririt at all.

(4) In Matthew 9, it is about Jesus who send out 12 apostles which are equipped with special power/miracle to heal every disease and sickness. The apostles believed to went out, preaching and help to heal every disease man suffered.

Matthew 9

5 These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: "Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any town of Samaritans.

6 Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel

I am not sure what is Gentiles or Samaritans. Therefore, I surf to the Internet to get the meaning of Gentiles and Samaritans. Griff Ruby in his article "Samaritans!" (source: http://www.the-pope.com/samaritn.html) explained that samaritans and gentiles are lower class races than Jews during the time of Jesus. Griff Ruby said that, it is like between Negros (black) and White in the US.

Alright. So it seems that Jesus dont want his apostles to preach the Gentiles and Samaritans (which are non-jews), but he emphasised that his apostles must search for "the lost sheep of Israel", which is believed to be the Jews.

.

Therefore, it seems that the teaching of Jesus is just only for the jews, not Gentiles, or Samaritans, or english, or pakistan or jawa or whatever. This teaching is only for jews. As bible said in Matthew 2 that Jesus is a King of Jews, so it seems that Jesus preached to Jews alone and not to other type of races. It is obvious right?

(5) In the Book of Matthew 12 38, this is a story of an educated man of Jews, asking for miracles from Jesus, which Muslim believed it as "Mukjizat".

Look at how Jesus address them. (Warnings: Don't teach this to your kids).

Matthew 12

38 Then some of the Pharisees and teachers of laws said to him, "Teacher, we want to see a miraculous sign from you".

39 He answered, "A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a miraculous sign! But none will be given except the sign of the Prophet Jonah.

Well, look at how Jesus replied. "A wicked and adulterous generation!". What is this wicked? and what is adulterous? Do you think that a mighty prophet of God like Jesus is appropriate to use cursing words like these to address people? As a muslim, we believed that Isa a.s. is one of the massenger of God who hold such a high position in Islam, but do you believe that a prophet was saying cursing words like that? A prophet is a chosen man by God, not an ordinary people. They must have a high level of patience, ethical and watch over their tongue at all time. But it seems that something is not right here.
